Although we weren't founded until 2002, our true roots go back much further. We have always been black and white.
In 1924, eight years before the color camera was invented, a young woman by the name of Betsy Smith picked up a camera for the first time- a now ancient model of camera called a "Leica 1." Thereafter, she fell in love with the newly emerging art of photography and spent her days capturing the local flora and fauna. Long story short, photography became a part of her bloodine. She inspired her kids, who inspired my Grandma, Bethany Wolowitz, to open a black and white photography store. We grew bigger, changed the name, moved to New York City, and now here we are- hiring only the best photographers in our area to capture beautiful moments across the globe.
